Barton Creek Farmers Market Bustles with Shoppers Amid Lively Vendors and Views of Downtown Austin
Hey, good morning everyone. It's Saturday morning, July 19th, 10:36 a.m. and if there's two things that I love, it's, uh, a Fredericksburg peach and the downtown Austin skyline. And right here at the Barton Creek Square Farmers' Market, you can find both, uh, If there was a prize for the market with the best skyline vistas, uh, this one would win hands down. I love the views out here. I love the atmosphere out here, the hustle and bustle, uh, little, um, I was gonna say live music going on in the background, but actually what we've got over here is a very talented gentleman actually tap dancing, uh, to a soundtrack. Some New Orleans, uh, jazz vibe going on over here. Let's just take a look. Wonderful. over here as well. Take a look. Now, if you're, um, if you're coming out of the mall, the closest uh mall exit to the farmers' market is going to be Macy's or Dillard's. OK, so, uh, come through the mall out of Macy's and Dillard's and you'll find uh, everything that the Barton Creek Square Farmers' Market has to offer for you. And a downtown downtown skyline to boot.
Hi folks, uh, Saturday morning, July 19th, 10:44. This is Gary reporting for City vibe. I'm over at the Barton Creek Square Mall, uh, farmers' market and just been chatting to, uh, Brooks here from Lew’s Lamps and uh. He repurposes, uh, wine bottles, lamps, uh, wine bottles, teapots, uh, beer cans, uh, to make these incredible. Uh, Luminaires, uh, some of them run on regular, uh, 110 power as you can see, uh, others have fairy lights with batteries in the base, but I think, uh, I think it's great: reduce, reuse, recycle, repurpose. I think uh they're great products. It's keeping, uh, keeping things out of landfills as well and uh Brooks here is a wonderful gentleman, very generous with his time telling me about the history of the brand. Yeah, what I like about this market is really every time I come, I see something unique that catches my eye. Uh, you could really spend 2 or 3 hours out here and, uh, and not get bored. Uh, Beach Geezer, “enjoy life and smell extraordinary.” I think that's a good note to leave it on.
