Austin's Republic Square Farmers Market Celebrates Pride with Unique Vendors and Festive Atmosphere
Hey, good morning, everyone. This is Gary from City Vibe here, standing in the shadow of the Republic Tower out at the farmers' market, which just sits right on the south edge of Republic Square Park. This is uh 4th Street between Guadeloupe and San Antonio. And uh, as always, the uh farmers' market down here is a little bit sweet, it's a little bit salty. Uh actually uh. Talking of sweet and salty, Yappa is here, the purveyors of Austin's finest empanadas. Any Longhorns will probably be familiar with Yappa. They have quite a big food trailer right outside the Jester dorm, in fact, on campus. Cookies are here and an interesting little addition, um. Because it's Pride weekend, uh the hair product, uh, Bedhead actually has a pop up booth here. This is just the backside of it you can see now where, um, they're going to be giving people a free do as part of, uh, Pride Week. And uh, let's wrap it up with woof Dog. Here's a good looking standard poodle here and woof Dog definitely a go to place for dog treats, lots of raw hide action. And uh this is Gary from the Republic Square Downtown Farmers Market. It's Saturday morning, 10 a.m. August 23rd. Have a great weekend, y'all.
Gary, for city vibe here at the downtown Republic Square Farmers Market. Hey, just a friendly reminder y'all. During the summer months, uh, July through August, the market does close at 12 noon, so it's 10:00 a.m. now. You've got a couple of hours to get down here, experience all of the, uh, the goodness that's on offer here. Let's take a look what we got. This is a new face here, looks like a watermelon mint lemonade. That might be a little interesting palate cleanse later. baked from scratch here. Yes, I've never met a, uh, sourdough loaf yet that I didn't like. And there's plenty here. Yeah, the market is hopping this morning, folks. Uh, right on the south edge of Republic Square Park. Uh, this is the scene actually on 4th Street. And it's great, it's uh closed off at either end. It's closed off between Guadeloupe and San Antonio street so very pedestrian friendly, very dog friendly, and, uh, it can get a little bit salty down here, so it's always good to see these guys from the uh downtown Austin Alliance, the safety team are always out here just making sure everybody has a good time. And that's your view now just looking west towards the uh. Uh, towards San Antonio Street and the, uh, fruit and veggie vendors out here. Hope everyone has a great weekend and a blessed Pride Day.
