Vibrant South Rainey. Exploring Austin's Bustling South Rainey Street: A Friday Afternoon Walkthrough

All right, so walking down Rainey Street here, um, one direction towards the pen that's dropped off pretty much right, um, by 700 River here on Rainey Street, um, just kinda show you what the, the area is like here at about 4 o'clock on a Friday, starting to get busy, um. Moderate noise level, but, um, it's never really quiet here on Rainy Street. That's not something that you, uh, experience very often in this area. Good amount of traffic, lots of people and music. You can see the bars are starting to fill up as it's, uh, becoming time, uh, for happy hours and things of that sort, um. People come out to have drinks, have some food at the few, uh, couple of food places that are here. Food trucks are, um, around in this area as well. Uh, I think it picks up as the, uh, night goes on, you know, gets to the later hours of the evening, it definitely gets busier, so, um, I think the food trucks are, are a pleasant surprise. There's a few areas where there's bundles of them, um, right down here, um, under this building. And then, um, you know, you're out at some of the bars, there's, uh, food trucks as well. In addition to bankers, you know, obviously at banks you have, um, all of the sausage and everything there that you could want, uh, for that type of food, so, um. Like I said, uh, it's a busy area. The parking is hard. You can see a lot of these cars that are even parked right here are not allowed to be parked here at the moment, so, um, that's definitely one of the difficulties coming to this area is trying to find parking. But, uh, if your rental has parking, that's the way to do it, so, um. Yeah, great area here. Um, there's also a new coffee shop right here at the salo building right where this lady is standing over here called Daydreamer. There's lots of new things opening and definitely no shortage of things to do in this area. So, um, if you wanna stay near, uh, South Rainy Street near, you know, Lester Pearl area. You're where everything's happening in Austin, 7701. This is what it's like right now. Like I said, it's uh 4 p.m. on a Friday. Um, most of the apartments and rentals are kind of just, uh, lined up and down the street. Definitely, um, stay closer to the, to the end if you want it a little bit quieter where you're just kind of steps away from the bars, um, but if you wanna be right where the action is, a lot of the buildings right here in the middle or at the top of, uh, Granny Street. Um, that's where you're gonna get, uh, you know, everything right there, right at your doorstep, so, um. Closest, uh, good strip for food and drinks is obviously right here. You know, all of these bars, um, you know, you can get, uh, some good cocktails and, and beers at right here out front of Banggers, which have sausages and barbecue, things of that sort, and then right down at the end here, there's also, um, a pocket of food trucks that have, you know, other types of food as well. So, um, there's no shortage of options for food and drinks here on Rainy Street, and there's even a coffee shop. Um, If you're looking to book here, I definitely would stay um right here where, um, you know, how everything's happening, um, right along raining at any of the apartment buildings or if you want it a little bit quieter down uh to the end. Um. I definitely would, um, kind of avoid anywhere outside of Rainey, cause then otherwise, um, you're not gonna be near any of the, the activities that you're looking to. You know, be around if you live in this area. So anywhere outside of here is, um, you know, a different neighborhood and other attractions. So if you wanna be right here on Rainy Street, um, any of these apartments right along the street are where you wanna be.
