Umlauf Vibe Check. Exploring Austin's Umlauf Area: Quiet Streets and Local Charms

All right, what's going on y'all? This is Joshua with TruVibe, and we are located right now at the Amlof Sculpture Garden, uh, at 605 AZ Morton Road in Austin, Texas. And they have this whole uh museum over here, it's a sculpture museum, and uh we're just gonna walk around the area, show you guys what it's like, um. And just talk about the area a little bit more. So, um, we are very close to, uh, Barton Springs pool and, uh, still on that Ladybirdd Lake Trail as well, and you see it's a baseball field, so there's recreation in the area. We're gonna cross this crosswalk here when it's ready. I stopping. We're just going We appreciate it. All right, so, Gonna cross over here and then walk up to the side street down the way, just show you guys a little bit of the area. But yeah, if you, uh, just keep walking down this way, uh, to the right, you're gonna have that Barton Springs pool access. Um, then we got the Ziler train and uh Zila Park is gonna be back in the opposite direction of us where, um. You know, you can see the skyline, it's got uh more, more access areas to the trail, but good picnic spot, there's uh volleyball and lots of things going on over there. So a good place to take the dog and chill. Work out whatever you wanna do, um. Yeah, it doesn't look like a, well, I don't see a side street anywhere too, too close, but Do you see a house up here on the left? It seems to be pretty close by. And um you can see, it's a little bit of It's a little bit of a back road coming through here, uh, but. Uh, for the most part, this area is really quiet. Um, just a couple of houses up here, um, that are kind of like up on these hills and in the back. So, it's like a little driveway access. There's like a little walking path up there, and yeah. That's what the area looks like. Um, so yeah, this is in, uh, I mean, your closest, um, area to get to food and everything is gonna be, uh, towards uh Barton Springs, and, uh, on Barton Springs Road, and that's where, uh, they've got a couple of barbecue spots. They've got green mesquite barbecue. There's uh, the, the very first P. Terry's is over there. Uh, there's Terry Black's, which is gonna be a little bit further down. Uh, and yeah. Uh, Chewy's, so there's other bars and things like that, and Juiceland, one of my favorites. But yes, uh, see it, there's parks, lots of places to hang out and come chill. All right guys, so once again, we, this is Joshua with *TruVibe, and we are at the Olaf Sculpture Museum, and we're just gonna talk about the area a little bit more and I should just come in and take a peek at all the sculptures. Um, looks kind of cool. It says all visitors must check in. Oh, so it costs money to go, but. We'll just, uh, take a peek at the lobby area. And I'll just shoot this video for you guys real quick. Yeah. Anyways, uh. Seems like a place to be quiet, really. So I don't really wanna shoot the video too loud, but here we go, cool sculptures. Uh, anyways, so, uh, like I said earlier, we are pretty close to Barton Springs Road, uh, where you're gonna find like more of your, um, bars and food and things like that. Um, we're pretty close to the Zach's Theater, uh, which is on, uh, South Lamar, uh, there is a. That's at Casa de Luz, which is like a little, kind of like a holistic community, they've got a vegan restaurant, um, and, uh, just cool little holistic shops over there, and, uh, that's about 10 minutes away. And Yeah, uh, let's see, we got softball, baseball field out here, if you guys wanna play, um, often have like games and stuff like that during the season, so this is one field and then there's a couple, there's quite a few in this area right here. It's a great place for recreation if you, uh, guys support like local softball teams or something, probably do some kickball, kickball over here as well. Um. But yeah, uh, not too many streets around here to like avoid, I guess, like it's, it's kind of, like I said, it's kind of like a back road a little bit. It's not so much, uh, like a high traffic area as far as like foot traffic goes. Just more or less like, you know, people just going on a bike or taking a cruise, whatever. It's not too uh congested over here, so it doesn't seem. So it's a park, so. It's pretty chill. Um, anyways, um, if I was staying here. Uh, probably be a little bit. I mean, it seems like if there's, if we could find something, it would be a good place to stay. Like, uh, I don't think there's too much that Of a place over here where I wouldn't like it. It seems really quiet. Um, but if you, you know, wanna be near things and close to, close to something, then it's probably Gonna be a little bit out of the way for you, um, and yeah.
