Hey, good morning, everyone. It's Friday, June 20th. 7:08 a.m. and this is Gary. Just easing into the day. With some chickens! I'm over at the Sunshine Community Gardens. Um, it's located between. Uh, uh, Lamar and Burnett. Near the inner section of 49th. And this is just one corner of this amazing place. Uh, Sunshine Community Gardens comprises of 3 acres of land, which is leased from the Texas School for the Blind and visually impaired. Their campus is right next to the gardens, and the 3 acres are subdivided down into several 100 plots of various sizes, uh, full size. Half size and there's some micro plots as well, uh, for the kids. But also um. There's a chicken house here. And let's take a look over. At some of the micro plots. The, uh, the school for the blind actually has a little designated area, uh, for visually impaired kids to come and experience. Uh, the garden, it's, uh, it's more of a tactile experience and the plots are configured accordingly. Uh, but just panning around, you can see there's all manner. Of Flowers And fruits and vegetables. Yeah, just a beautiful, beautiful place in north central Austin. Hey everyone, this is Gary just easing into the day over at the Sunshine Community Gardens just here in north central Austin. The gardens are just on the corner of Forty-ninth and Sunshine, and that's just between, uh, Lamar and Burnet. This plot here is uh. For the kids from the Texas school for the blind and visually impaired, and in fact, the land is actually leased from the school, which is just next door. Looks like the kids have been out here uh growing onions. If I'm not mistaken. Uh, just a beautiful place watching the sunrise in the east And let me just leave you with the sights and sounds of this Beautiful space. Flowers And the birds. And the sunrise. Happy Friday y'all.
