Quiet Morning at Texas Capitol Despite Ongoing Legislative Special Session
Hey, good morning everybody. It's Saturday, July 26th. It's 8:59 a.m. and this is Gary for City Vibe out at the Texas State Capitol. Beautiful, quiet, a serene morning out here. Although we're in the midst of a special session, legislation will resume on Monday for week 2. There are some off-site meetings this weekend, uh, Houston and Harlingen, I believe, to discuss the marquee issues, which of course are redistricting. uh, but for today it's just a great day to stop and smell the roses and just enjoy the beautiful manicured grounds of this historic legislative building.
Hey everyone, it's Gary from City Vibe with a little squirrel here out on the great walk of the Texas State Capitol. Uh, just leaving the capital now, walking south along this checkerboard pattern of pink and gray pavers that make up the great walk, uh, lined with limestone curbs, beautifully manicured Saint Augustine grass and the canopy of live oak and cedar elm trees. A few tourists starting to make their way into the grounds. Quiet morning so far. And that's your view now looking south down Congress Avenue. Uh, quiet morning, folks. Uh, no protests at the moment. Um, yeah, just a great day, just to stop and smell the roses. Over here at the Texas State Capitol.
