Campus Echo: UT Stadium Stands Silent After Commencement as Students Leave for Summer

Video Transcript
Hey, it's Wednesday morning, 9:24. uh May 13th, and this is Gary over on the 40 acres. I'm outside the Darryl K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium, and that's on the intersection here of, uh, Santa Jacinto and 23rd, and the vibe on campus today, I think, is separation anxiety. Last Saturday night we saw 50,000 plus congregate in the stadium for commencement spring 2025. An incredible night, a celebration of four great years. Now finals are over, the dorms are closed, and, uh, campus kind of takes on a strange echo. Hey y'all, it's the Wednesday after commencement, and this is Gary over on the 40 acres. It's about 9:30 a.m. May 13th, just taking a stroll up past the football stadium. Graduation behind us, campus has emptied out. We start to see a lot of construction work and facilities work going on here now. In fact, you're as likely to see a hard hat and a pair of work boots as you are to see a book bag or a pair of Adidas Sambas out here.
