Hey, good morning everyone. It's Friday. June 27th, it's 7:30 a.m. and this is Gary over at the Deep Roots Community Gardens. So the garden sits at the intesection of 9th and Henderson And just to get your bearings, that's just one block east Of Lamar. And in fact, the community gardens an initiative sponsored by Whole Foods, uh, it opened in around about 2012 when Whole Foods acquired. Uh, this vacant lot which just sits right on. Uh, Shoal Creek trail. Uh, you just make out the 9th Street Bridge there. And uh it was converted into a community garden, which is a joint initiative between Whole Foods, uh the Whole Foods Kids Foundation and the local community. As you can see, it's subdivided down, morning. Into individual Lots of folks out here growing. Uh, a lot of herbs. And Let's see what else we've got here. I can see a, see an owl hiding there amongst those. Those vines. Um, yeah, beautiful space. A little oasis, right. Right in the heart of downtown, some tomatoes there look. So here you go folks, just easing into the day at the Deep Roots Community Gardens, just on the banks of Shoal Creek, right by the 9th Street Bridge.
