Coffee Shop Vibes. Houndstooth Coffee Exterior: Austin's Quiet Spot Amidst the Bustling North Lamar

Hey everyone, it's Friday afternoon, 5 p.m. July 11th. This is Gary for City vibe. I'm outside the Houndstooth Coffee on North Lamar, and I think the first thing that I noticed, um. it's on a very busy commuter corridor. It's in the 4200 block of North Lamar, and this time of day, a lot of traffic out here, parking lot is pretty full. A lot of vehicle noise as well. Um, it's well situated though. It's next to a taco deli and Uchiko is just half a block north. So that's the outside of the space. Uh, let's just stick our head around the door, take a look inside…. There you go. Uh, I gave you a quick 360 of the inside, um. Honestly, uh. Not the most welcoming of places, uh, very quiet in there. Um, the barista didn't sort of make any, uh, attempt to, to make eye contact or greet me. Uh, probably a good spot if you actually want to get some work done. Music at a very low level. Uh, AC is cranking in there, but I noticed the door is broken, so the doors ajar and that's kind of letting the cold air out. Um, so yeah, uh. The vibe check. I don't know. The jury is out for me. Hey everyone, Friday afternoon, July 11th, 5:15 p.m. and this is Gary just reviewing Houndstooth Coffee over in the 4200 block of North Lamar. I notice that there is nobody in the exterior seating out here. I think that's a combination really of it being a kind of a hot, windy afternoon, um, not the most comfortable place to sit. Uh, also, it's on a very major commuter corridor here. This is North Lamar, uh, just across from Central Markets. Um, we're next to the Taco Deli actually just so you get your bearings. So that does lead to a lot of vehicle noise out here. Uh, inside is very quiet. There are 2 baristas working. Uh, there's no one waiting to be served. There's only 2 or 3 tables occupied. So, uh, with all the downtime the baristas have got, uh, the place is very well organized, everything in intuitively laid out, and that's your snapshot from Houndstooth Coffee.
