Spring Break Empties UT Campus Streets
Video Transcript
Hey y'all, this is Gary checking in from UT. Um, at the intersection of Speedway and Dean Keaton, uh, behind me you can see the sculpture outside of the chemical and petroleum engineering building, and this gives a great view of just how deserted campus is today. It's the first day of spring break. It's Saturday morning, 9:30 a.m. And it's March 15th. This is a pedestrianized section of Speedway. I believe it's referred to as Speedway Mall, and it is one of the main arteries that runs through campus. No pedestrian traffic at all. Um, very light, uh, vehicle traffic, as you can see coming through the inner section on Dean Keaton. And uh Take a look south, there we go. So campus definitely feels emptied out today. And that's your view from the inter section of Speedway on the Speedway Mall and Dean Keaton on a beautiful Saturday morning.
Hey, this is Gary checking in from uh UT campus. I'm at the intersection of Speedway and Dean Keaton. And surrounded by the science buildings here, we've got the uh molecular science building here across from the PMA physics, math and astronomy building, and then that iconic orange sculpture outside of the petroleum engineering building, really just trying to give a feel for how deserted it is today, the first day of spring break. This inner section here, which is a pedestrianized section of Speedway, is usually a sea of humanity, just zero pedestrian traffic at all. Very light vehicle traffic passing through the intersection, the intersection on Dean Keaton. You can see heading south and then I look north back up to the drag. So that's your view from uh UT on this beautiful Saturday morning, first day of spring break.
