Austin’s Shoal Creek Trails Bustle with Morning Activity Despite Rising Temperatures
Happy Monday everyone. It's July 28th, 8:52 a.m. and this is Gary for City vibe with your Monday morning movement meter. I'm right at the south end of the Pfluger pedestrian Bridge, uh, Butler Hike and bike trail in front of us here, and, uh, that's Riverside, uh, the street. Just alongside here. Uh, this is an interesting spot. It's the sort of decision point if you're out on a run. Uh, do you keep going, uh, west out towards Barton Springs, or do you loop up onto the ped bridge and head back to town for a cup of coffee or or maybe home for the day and sometimes you'll see the Agony painted on people's faces as they're making that decision. Uh, it's um, it's a little bit past peak hour on the trail. Uh, most of the running clubs are done by now, uh. Yeah, sun's starting to get high in the sky, um, it's getting a bit hot. Humidity is pretty high as well. You can sort of see uh. That people are moving a little slower underneath here, this is more your sort of walkers and your dog runners, uh, dog walkers now, uh, than the more serious runners who would have been out here maybe an hour or two ago.
Hey, I'm Gary for City vibe out on the Butler Hike and Bike Trail, right at the south end of the uh pedestrian bridge, uh looking west now, um. Peak hour has kind of come and gone in terms of trail activity, you know, most of the run clubs and the more serious runners are probably done by now. Uh, it is already getting hot and humid out here, folks. Uh, I am breaking a sweat, although in full disclosure, I'm not sure if that's the humidity or the coffee that I'm drinking, um. Actually, a little breeze has just picked up, which has taken the edge off it, so yeah, there's still hope for a a a pleasant run if you're out on the trail already or a bike ride or maybe just a stroll with the pups. Have a great week everyone.
