Quiet Day at Texas Capitol: Minimal Activity Amidst Ongoing Construction

Video Transcript
Hey everyone, it's Friday morning, May 30th, 11:15 a.m. This is Gary. I'm over at the state Capitol, where the sun has finally made its way out. We've had a couple of days of, uh, pretty severe weather. Um, it looks like they put Humpty Dumpty back together again. There were some tree limbs down. I notice, uh, they've all been cleared and the Capitol grounds are looking pristine as usual. Significant construction though still going on on the east wing of the Capital, but really, uh, what we're here for today is, uh, Is this guy! Singing along to a little Johnny Cash to and audience one - this one guy with a big iron on his hip. Hey y'all, Friday morning, May 30th, it's 11:20. This is Gary, I'm over. At the Texas State Capitol is your firefighters monument and just off in the distance there that brown building is the uh Westgate Tower. Beautiful example of brutalist architecture in downtown Austin. And let's just take a roll down onto the street here. The south gate brings us out onto 11th and Congress. Quiet, quiet morning. Yeah, very light pedestrian traffic out here. Uh no protests to mention, uh, no movie shoots that I can see, which is another fixture to look out for on Congress Avenue. And then just panning up north. There you go, there's that state capital behind us.
