Campus Activity Outside Texas Memorial Stadium

Hey y'all, this is Gary checking in from the University of Texas. It's Monday at 1:16 p.m. and uh it's March 24th, and I'm outside of the University of Texas football stadium. The um Darryl K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium and that sits at the intersection of the San Jacinto and 23rd. It's always a scrappy intersection this is. Uh, these streets are open to regular, uh, traffic. Um, every third vehicle is a bus, and, uh, there's a lot of these oversized golf carts on the street as well, which I think they used to shuttle the student athletes, uh, to the various um practice facilities, uh. So that's your view from outside the Darryl Kay Royal Texas Memorial Stadium. And, uh, on a Monday lunchtime, March 24th. Hey y'all, this is Gary checking in from the University of Texas. It's a Monday, March 24th. It's 1:20 p.m. I'm right outside the Texas Memorial Stadium. I'm at the inner section of San San Jacinto, and, uh, what on this side of the street is called. Uh, DeLoss Dodds who I believe was Uh, an athletic director at the University of Texas. Uh, so what, what is 23rd Street on one side of San Jacinto becomes the DeLoss Dodds on the other side closer to the stadium, which is a nice gesture to, uh, to coach Dodds, um. This is always uh quite a scrappy intersection. Uh, there's a lot of bus traffic here, multiple bus stops around me as you can see, and, uh, always, um, golf carts on these roads, uh, shuttling the student athletes to the various practice facilities. There's actually one coming down the hill right now as I speak. But uh, yeah, a nice little intersection. To take in the history of of UT football on a beautiful march lunchtime. March 24th, University of Texas campus.
