Hey, good morning, everyone. It's Monday, July 7th, and this is Gary just easing into an overcast rainy morning in Austin over at the Chancery building. One of the most prestigious addresses in Austin, it sits at 1600 North Congress Avenue. And uh Despite its, uh, its grandeur, the Chancery is a relatively new building. It was actually built, um, in the late 1950s. It sits on the site of the historic Kirby mansion. Um, the Chancery is actually the official residence of the Bishop of Austin. Um, now that position has been vacant for about 6 months or so. Uh, the old bishop, Bishop Vasquez, uh, was actually appointed, um, Archbishop of Galveston and Houston. Um, but just last week, the new Pope, Pope Leo appointed a new bishop to Austin. Uh, his name is, uh, Daniel Garcia, Bishop Garcia. chancery is actually the official residence of the Bishop of Austin. I think it's at the individual's discretion whether or not they live here. Uh, but if he does, uh, Bishop Garcia is going to have a beautiful front yard to look out over because the chancery actually sits on the Capitol Mall, as you can see here. So that's your view from 1600. Uh, North Congress Avenue outside of the Chancery of Austin, just a stone's throw from the state capital on an overcast Monday morning.
