Morning Rush or Leisure Walk? Analyzing Foot Traffic on Austin's Ladybird Lake Trails

Hey, on Monday morning, June 30th, 8:41 a.m. and this is Gary. I'm uh at the inner section of the Shoal Creek Trail. You see the Cesar Chavez Bridge up there, and this here is the town Lake Trail or Ladybird Lake Trail if you prefer. Just taking a look at the traffic levels out here. Uh, most of the run clubs are usually done by about 8. Um, so foot traffic is pretty light right now, mostly, uh, mostly walkers, dog walkers. There's still a few joggers out, um. But uh I do notice an uptick in avian traffic down here this morning. Good looking family of birds right here down by the creek side. Uh, basking in that morning sun. See the sun just coming up there in the east now, uh, next to the um waterline tower. And that's your Monday morning movement meter from the Ladybird Lake hike and Bike Trail. At the moment, uh, ducks are definitely outnumbering people right now, good looking family of ducks here. Taking in that morning sun. You can just see sun rising up there in the east by the Waterline tower. Uh, most of the run clubs are normally done by about 8 a.m., so, uh, folks on the trail mostly seem to be dog walkers. Uh, recreational walkers, couple out on a stroll here. Yeah, great way to ease into the week. And there's your view now looking east, uh, down Ladybird Lake.
