Explore the Architectural Beauty of Austin: A Morning at the Blanton Museum
Everyone, Gary from City Vibe. It is Friday morning, April 8th, 10:07 a.m. I'm starting my day out over at the beautiful Blanton. Museum It sits right on the south edge of the University of Texas campus. And alongside. The new Capitol Mall. Whichever direction you look in, there's beautiful foliage. There's breathtaking art and architecture. Particularly these uh petals, these sunshades here, uh which create a beautiful dappled effect to the light. Also, uh, during heavy rains, uh, these structures actually collect rainwater for recycling. Um The foliage here is absolutely beautiful. I love these uh firecracker plants, honeysuckles. And It is a little bit rowdy here. uh, there's a couple of school trips have just come through, so I hope they enjoy their time out in this space as much as I am.
Everyone, this is Gary from City Vibe. Just enjoying my morning over at the Blanton Museum, sits right on the south edge of the 40 acres across from the new Capital Mall. Uh, I am sharing it with several, uh, school trips, summer camps, possibly, so it's kind of lively over here. I love this space, uh, just across from the modernist chapel. Uh, called Austin, uh, that's the building, um. With the colored windows you can see as we look in the general direction of uh the heart of UT. The only thing that's really missing here would be a coffee shop. And uh the good news is that the Blanton Cafe is scheduled to uh open or reopen. Later this year. Boy, whichever direction you look in, it's just breathtaking. There's the Bob Bullock Museum, there's the state Capitol. Hope everyone has a great Friday and a blessed weekend ahead.
