Morning Hustle: Austin's Ladybird Lake Trail Bustles with Runners and Walkers
Hey, good morning, everyone. It's, uh, Thursday, July 17th, and this is Gary for City vibe out on the, uh, Ladybird Lake hike and bike trail, bringing you your morning movement meter. Uh, busy start to the day out here, folks. Uh, this is the, uh, section of the trail that sits right opposite the Seahol power plant, and next to the Seahol intake facility just on the north shore of Lake Ladybird, and it is so busy, guys. I'm actually gonna step off the path here, so I'm not impeding the runners. It is a nice cold morning. The humidity feels lower than it has the last couple of days. Uh, sun just breaking through in the east. Great shot there across, uh, Lake Ladybird and, uh, let me just pan around so you can see this is the, the little kicker hill here that brings you back up onto Cesar Chavez. And uh, that is your morning movement meter from Town Lake hike and bike trail, Thursday morning, July 17th.
Hey, good morning everyone. It's uh Thursday, July 17th, 7:47 a.m. This is Gary with City Vibe, uh, bringing you your morning movement meter from the hike and bike trail. Over on Lake Ladybird right next to the old Seaholm uh intake plant. Busy morning on the trail, folks. Uh, it's a cool morning. The humidity is lower than it has been in the last couple of days. As you can see, I'm on this little kicker ramp here, uh, that brings you back up onto, uh, Cesar Chavez. Uh, quite a challenge, I should imagine if you've been out on a long run or a long bike ride, um. Here we go. The sun's just coming through uh in the east. Great view across the lake there, sun just picking up the retaining wall there on the south side of the lake. And uh yeah, so I'm just walking uh east now uh in the direction of Shoal Creek. And this is your morning movement meter, Thursday morning, 7:48 a.m.
Everyone, Thursday morning, July 17th, 7:50 a.m. This is uh Gary with Cityvibe bringing you your morning movement meter. Uh, very little, uh, lake usage this morning. There's one guy out there fishing. Usually around about this time we'll see, uh, folks from the Austin rowing dock heading along the river getting their morning sets in. Uh, river quiet for now, just getting back onto the hike and bike trail proper. As you can see, I'm right by that little kicker ramp here next to the old Seaholm power plant intake facility that brings you back up onto Cesar Chavez. A little lull in the, in the traffic right now. It has been very busy this morning. Humidity is low. Uh, compared to the last couple of days. And uh, let's get up onto the sidewalk and uh, give you an overview of uh. The activity levels out here. Uh, couple of dog walkers here. OK, that's now your snapshot. Looking west along Cesar Chavez in the direction of the uh Pfluger Ped bridge.
