Sunny Saturday Showcases Austin Farmers Market: Fresh Produce and Local Faces
Video Transcript
Hey y'all, it's Saturday, May 3rd, 9:26 a.m. This is Gary. I'm at the downtown Farmers' Market right next to Republic Park, between 4th and 5th, and, uh, this is the uh Shirttail Creek farm, uh, booth, which is one of the powerhouses down here, lot of protein. It's always a little line here, uh, eggs, steaks, poultry. Uh, busy morning. We had, uh, like a front come through last night and some rain so it's a crisp, beautiful sunny morning out here. A lot of traffic. I can see, uh, the, the sea home demographic pretty much, uh, the young, beautiful, under 30 crowd, uh, which makes me, uh, completely out of place here.
Hey y'all, Saturday morning, May 3rd, 9:30 a.m. This is Gary. I'm down at the farmers' market downtown Austin, right next to Republic Park. That's between 4th and 5th. Uh, good, good sized crowd out here right now. We had a cold front come through last night and a rain. It's a beautiful fresh sunny morning out here. Uh, this is the, uh, Shirttail Creek farm booth, always a little line out here. A lot of, a lot of protein, uh, steaks and eggs and, uh, poultry. Uh, great vibe out here. There's the Cinco de Mayo festival going on actually in Republic Park right now, so some of the music is kind of drifting over this way. And uh a lot of doggos, lots of kids. Yeah, real nice vibe out here at the downtown farmers' market.
Hey it's Gary at the Downtown Farmers' Market, just taking a a walk now north from 4th to 5th, look at all this great produce out here. Boy, some big Brussels sprouts there, cauliflowers and squash. Coming up on one of my favorite, this is a Wuff Dog doggy treats. Look at this guy here let’s see what he's got his eye on. There you go, a lot of raw hide action going on. There you go. This guy's in doggy heaven right here. And uh next door we got something interesting, medicinal mushrooms. Here we go, MYCO Mushroom menu, let's take a look at this. Yeah, that's a really interesting booth.
Hey it's Gary over at the Downtown Farmers' Market. If there was an award for the the best vendor's name, I think it would have to go to Dough Mama here. With her uh artisan bread, some sourdoughs here. We've got some delicious looking scones. I see some blueberry action in there, that's my favorite. Plenty of cookies, here's a Dough Mana herself! And uh there you go, everything seems to be well stocked. All right, thank you so much. I appreciate it. We got Artisan dressing store is Dough Mama's neighbor, and this is the view now looking south, you see the uh. Federal court building just right here.
