Protest Staging and Tourist Activities Ramp Up at Texas State Capitol Grounds
Hey, good morning everyone. It's Gary from City Vibe, Saturday, July 27th at 11 a.m. Over at the Texas State Capitol. Uh, I actually came in through the Westgate Today for a change, passing by the uh Westgate tower over there. I notice we've got a small uh staging area for a protest here, couple of folks in high vis jackets and a big stack of water bottles and megaphones. So, uh, I'm not quite sure what, uh, what's going on there, but something’s coming down the pike. Uh, lot of tourist traffic out here today. Uh, of course, uh, guided tours do run on weekends. Uh, their first tour starts at 12:30, uh, from just inside the south lobby there, and the tours run every 30 to 45 minutes and, uh, the last tour is, uh, departs at 3:30 p.m. So that's the tour hours for Saturday and Sunday over at the Texas State Capitol.
Hey everyone, Gary from Cityvi here it's Saturday morning, uh, just leaving the state Capitol building behind me now. Yeah, just walking a couple of blocks south down Congress Avenue. I noticed that the uh, Southbound lanes here are restricted between 11th and what looks to be 9th, uh, just off there in the distance, I can see a flat bed, uh, seems to have just offloaded a backhoe and Other equipment, so possibly we're looking at some utility work going on, uh, just on the southbound lane there of Congress Avenue, uh, appears to be between 10th and 9th Street.
