Fourth of July Weekend: Bars and Eateries Draw Crowds to The Domain in Austin

Hey, happy July 4th y'all, it's uh Friday 6:42 p.m. and this is Gary reporting for City Vibe, from the domain North side. And what I've noticed out here is most of the retail stores have either been closed today or they closed early. Uh, usually you'll be seeing folks weighed down carrying shopping totes with the marquee name stores on them, but not seeing much of that at all out here. I think the majority of people are out for the bars and the restaurants. I'm outside of one particularly busy location. This is uh Jack and Ginger's Irish bar. I noticed actually that the valet parking is already set up out here. Yeah, this definitely is the busiest location on Rock Rose so far anyway, the night is still young. The food joints across the street are pretty busy. One thing I did notice actually, one of my favorites, Salvation Pizza has actually closed down since the last time I was here. Salvation Pizza used to be in this space, and in fact a noodle bar, uh, with a rather risque name Fresh Noodz has actually popped up in this location since I was last here. This is your view now looking down Rock Rose, Velvet taco just there in view, and, um, yeah, folks out here really coming to enjoy dinner at the restaurants that are open or to enjoy an adult beverage at the uh the bars which seem to be hopping tonight. Hey y'all, July 4th, it's Friday evening, 6:50 p.m. This is Gary out at the Domain North side, just bringing you the sights and sounds of Rock Rose the entertainment district out here, which is hopping. I think most of the folks out here have come for the bars, have come for the restaurants, I think the retail stores were either closed today or had limited hours. Let's do a quick uh flyby here of uh the Irish bar, Jack and Ginger's definitely seems to be one of the busier locations so far, but the night is still young folks. We got the dDogwood next door, the Lavaca Street Bar right up ahead of us as well. So there you go folks, that's your view from the domain north side Rock Rose on July 4th evening. Happy Independence Day, y'all.
