Quiet Day at Texas Capitol as Special Session Lingers Without Quorum
Hey y'all, Gary from City vibe here, just hanging out in the shade of these beautiful live oak trees that line the great walk over at the Texas State Capitol. It is Monday morning, August 11th, 11:30 a.m. Uh, we're going into the 4th and final week of the special session. We still don't have a quorum in the House. House Speaker really lining, leaning into this idea of issuing civil arrest warrants for those House Democrats who are breaking quorum, while the drama plays out in the building behind us, uh, just a steady trickle of tourists visiting the grounds and the occasional staff are going about their day.
Hey everyone, Gary from City vibe here. It's Monday morning, August 11th. 10:30, 11:30 a.m. just at the south gate of the state Capitol here, couple of APD mounted officers just enjoying the shade behind me. Uh, everything quiet on Congress Avenue, there's your view south. Everything moving smoothly. You can see clearly all the way down to the Congress Avenue bridge down there. This is a scan here of 11th, we've just got a handful of tourists, a few folks just visiting the state capital. This is the start actually of the 4th and final week of the special session.
