Austin's Serene Sunrise. Experience a Tranquil Austin Sunrise from the Iconic Doug Sahm Hill

Hey everyone, happy Juneteenth. Thursday morning, 7:36. On June 19th, and this is Gary. I'm just easing into the day. On the top of Doug Sahm Hill. The hill sits just on the south side. Of Ladybird Lake. And it's characterized by a spiral path that wraps around the hill and Brings you all the way to the top. And there's this great Mosaic of the outline of Texas up here. Well it looks like somebody has tagged Austin unfortunately. Here's Austin, El Paso out to the west. Amarillo up to the north. Gives a great view of the downtown skyline with the sun just rising there in the east. Doug Sam was a musician out of San Antonio, Texas, um, one of the driving forces behind The Tex-Mex supergroup, the Texas Tornadoes, and the spiral path that brings you up to the top of Dogs Sam Hill. evokes the imagery of a Of a tornado, of a twister. And in fact just in back there you can see the splash pad. Uh, which is currently not operating by the look of things, I don't think that comes on for a little while later, until a little while later.
