Video Transcript
Hey everyone, it's Wednesday morning, 8:17, June 25th, and this is Gary, uh, just walking Shoal Creek Trail, uh. Kind of close to the inner section of Lamar and 25th. In fact, this is where Shoal Creek Boulevard just crosses over the trail, and as some of you may be aware, this section of the trail was affected by a series of landslides. Uh, 2017, 2018, so six or seven years ago, and, uh, the Trail Conservancy, uh, has been battling ever since to get this section of the trail reopened. And uh, I thought we'd take a, a look and see exactly what the scope of work will entail, um, There are constantly funding initiatives and Site surveys Going on, but I think it's as much a topological issue as it is a financial issue, but this is what we're looking at folks. As you can see, It's pretty catastrophic what happened here during these landslides. Uh, those large properties to the west of the trail, we can actually see their fence lines here. All of this rubble was just completely swept down. Into the Shoal Creek riverbed, you can just make out the Caliche of the riverbed down there, the white rocks. Um, and really the The path just makes a very abrupt halt right here and you're just faced with this wall of debris Uh, so if you walk in the trail as I am, really your only option is actually just to, to cut back onto Lamar and walk the sidewalk, uh, until the other side of this, and then you can carry on your way down to town Lake.
