Amtrak's Texas Eagle Readies for Departure Amid a Sunny Austin Morning
Hey everyone, it's Thursday morning, July 10th, 9:12 a.m. and this is Gary. I'm downtown at the Austin Amtrak railroad station. There's only 2 passenger trains a day that come through Austin. Uh, there's this one in the morning which goes north all the way to Chicago, and then there is a southbound train, uh, to San Antonio that comes through in the evenings. There's just something about being at a railroad station that kind of gives you that wanderlust feeling, gives you itchy feet. Just watching the passengers, some taking a break. Some of them are stretching their legs and getting back on again. Uh, some of them are boarding from Austin. Guy checking tickets here. Uh Yeah, just take in the sights and sounds, guys, of a Northbound Chicago-bound train, sitting at the Austin Amtrak station. Silhouetted against The downtown skyline, sun just rising up in the east. What an absolute joy.
