Morning Serenity at Texas State Capitol Grounds Captured in Stunning Detail
Hey, good morning, everyone. This is Gary for City Vibe, along with Lady Liberty. It's, uh, Tuesday morning, August 19th, about 7:35 a.m. I'm out exploring the monuments that sit in the, the grounds of the Texas State Capitol. Uh, Lady Liberty here sits in the northwest grounds. Uh, she's right outside of the Texas Supreme Court. Uh, she was commissioned in the 1950s. Uh, by the Boy Scouts of America and sits on a Texas, uh, limestone pedestal. I guess she's probably about 8 ft tall, so not quite as imposing as the one that sits in New York Harbor, uh, but she certainly makes good company just to ease into the day.
Gary from City vibe here. I'm just easing into my Tuesday morning along with Lady Liberty, or at least a scaled down version of Lady Liberty that sits on the northwest corner of the state Capitol grounds. She's right outside of the Texas Supreme Court, sits alongside the World War II monument. Uh, it's a beautiful, uh, beautiful way to ease into the day. These grounds are quite gorgeous. Uh, obviously there's a little bit of construction going on on the Capitol building itself, as you can see, and kind of a muggy, overcast day, but look at that cloud pattern up there. Isn't that beautiful? We got a few staffers just heading into the Capitol building now, of course, we're just going into the second special session, and Lady Liberty here is keeping a close eye on the proceedings.
