Capitol Update. Texas Capitol Grounds Display Ongoing Construction, Lack Public Gatherings on September 5th.

Happy Friday everyone. We made it. It's uh Gary from City vibe here. It's uh September 5th. 11:47 a.m. And I'm coming uh into the Capitol grounds from the uh north entrance. And if I do a quick 180. You can see by the capital extension. And the hot mess there. On the other side of the inner section. Is the Capital Mall project which eventually will connect. Uh, from the Bob Bullock all the way through to the capital, um. It's gonna really uh be an asset to the city. Uh, essentially 4 blocks of green space right in the heart of downtown. Uh, let's just do a quick walk and talk. So, uh, special session number 2 is still underway, um, there's about a week left, uh, before the 3 week, uh, 3 day weekend, before the, uh, Labor Day weekend. We had some quite emotional testimony for in regards to the Camp safety bill. Of course we heard from parents of the, uh, the young girls who were sadly lost. Um, at summer camps. Uh, out in the Texas hill country and there was also some quite Uh, heated discussion regarding, uh, standardized testing, uh, in Texas schools, and that's your view looking down, uh, to the outdoor, uh, rotunda, and there's your view of the state capital from the north side. Everyone Gary from City vibe here. Just at the south end of the state Capitol grounds right by the south entrance here on 11th Street, uh, very quiet day over at the Capitol. Um, let's see any, uh, Visible protests. Um, I noticed there was one guy sitting. Uh, close to the, uh, main entrance, uh, with some literature about environmental issues, but, uh, yeah, very calm, serene gentleman. Uh, here's the, uh, here's the gates. He's the 11th Street gates. So this is the intersection out of 11th and Congress. Uh, really not too much going on down here. Uh, of course, um. Oh boy, I've not seen this before. I've got a, got a feeling, uh, there might be a tour group somewhere on the grounds, uh, whole row of, uh, e-bikes here. Good vibes, good vibes, and more good vibes. Yes, so, uh, obviously there's a tour group somewhere roaming the Capitol Grounds right now. And, uh, yeah, I'm gonna leave you with some good vibes for the weekend.
