Morning Activity on Austin's Trails: Walkers and Joggers Populate Lady Bird Lake Path

Video Transcript
Hey, good morning everyone. It's Gary from City Vibe. Thursday morning, July 31st. It's 9:48 a.m. I'm on the Butler Hike and bike trail just on the north side of the Ladybird Lake, just coming up towards the South First Street Bridge. So It's quite a comfortable morning. Uh, temperatures already in the mid 80s, but again, the humidity is on the lower side than it was at the start of the week, and that that means that the trail is going to stay busier for longer. Uh, that said, most of the serious runners, uh, the run clubs are long gone by now. Um, but yeah, we still got, uh, just recreational walkers out here. Cyclists, dog walkers out, enjoying the trail. And uh yeah, we're just coming up now. On the Google building. The beautiful Austin downtown library there just. Peeking through the trees. And I could just make out a little bit of traffic there on the South First Street Bridge as it crosses. Cesar Chavez. I hope everybody has a wonderful day. Hey everyone, Gary, for city vibe here, uh, just squinting into the sun on the Butler hike and bike trail. I'm just to the east of the South First Street Bridge. And uh comfortable morning, you know, temperatures already getting up there, I think we're probably in the mid 80s by now. Uh, but the humidity is lower than it was at the start of the week and that's really what makes all of the difference. Ah, I'm glad to be coming into the shade line now of the South First Street Bridge. Get a look at the water quality out here for you. Uh, water quality has not been the best really for a few weeks since those heavy rains which came through July. Our 4th weekend, it definitely stirred up a lot of gunk, uh, but these ducks don't seem to mind. fellow right here I want to get too close and spook him, but uh yeah, we got some. Some waterfowl out here, just sitting in the shade. Yeah, as you can see the, the lake quality is not exactly pristine, but uh, yeah, wildlife seems to be pretty unbothered by it. And that's your view now just looking uh west. Along the trail back out into the sun, right at the base of the Google building.
