Turtle Pond at UT Austin: A Tranquil Oasis Amidst Campus Hustle
Hey, good morning everyone. It's Gary from City Vibe. Starting my day, starting my week over off at the 40 acres. You can hear the UT clock tower behind me chiming 11 a.m. It's Monday morning. I'm over at Turtle Pond. And Little bit of construction noise going of course there's quite a significant remodeling project of the tower that's going on at the moment, um, but I'm just enjoying the last week over here before move in day, so some key dates for you here. The turtle wants to remind you that in fact, One week from today, uh, early move in. And, uh, that would be the uh the 18th of August. Uh, mooov in weekend proper, uh, is the 22nd and the 23rd of August, and then, uh, classes start on Monday The 25th Um, so I'm just gonna enjoy hanging out with these turtles for a few more days and then campus will be back to its busy self.
Hey y'all, Gary from City Vibe over at Turtle Ponds and, uh, just got a, uh, UT tour group come through actually. So let's just, uh, let's just eavesdrop for a moment…”I know they are. Busy actually over here. Um, it's still a great place to hang out…” Uh, I like this time of year. It's a time to reflect, it's a time to expect, you know, summer is coming to an end and as you can see by these tour groups, uh, we got new longhorns over here, excited to get started, um. On their academic journey, um, Turtle Pond also has a somber side to it. Of course, this memorial here commemorates a very dark day in UT history. In fact, it's just been the fifty-ninth anniversary, um, of that awful day and what happened at the UT Tower. So, um. Yeah, life is all about light and shade, y'all, but, uh, Yeah, great way to ease into the day. Turtle pond over at the 40 acres. Have a great week, y'all.
