Scenic Strolls on Austin's Pfluger Bridge: Foot Traffic and Water Activities Reignite Post July 4th Storms

Hey, good morning everyone. It's Thursday, July 10th, 10 a.m. This is Gary for City vibe out on the Pfluger pedestrian bridge. This is the north end of the bridge now heading south. Beautiful, beautiful day. Uh, it's gonna be a scorcher though later on. It’s gonna be 90 degrees later on. So I think folks are getting their walk or they're running Earlier today. And let's take a look at the lake. Be careful not to get run over by this golf cart as well here. Bridge is hopping today, a lot of folks out. So the lake was actually closed for recreational users. For 2 or 3 days after The big rain that came through On July 4th, uh, officially the lake is open again for recreational users, but I don't see anybody out here This morning, which is very unusual. One lone kayaker there just heading underneath. Uh the Lamar Bridge, oh no, and another kayaker coming into shop. So yeah, lake is open again, but activity levels are, are nowhere near what they were, uh, before. The the uh July 4th, the events of July 4th. And uh yeah, here's your view now looking south along the bridge. And one more shot of this beautiful Austin downtown skyline. It never stops being magical, see the waterline tower there, off to the east.
