Rainy Campus Commute. Rainy Morning Traffic at University of Texas: Students Brave Wet Conditions

Friday morning 8:38 a.m. It's uh March 28th and uh this is Gary checking in from the University of Texas. I'm on the intersection of 24th and Guadalupe. And it is a rainy Friday morning over here on the 40 acres. As you can see, we've got students making their way up to the 9 a.m. lecturers umbrellas in hands. Traffic on the Drag is light to moderate, but it is perilous. Just standing at this intersection, you're hearing tires struggling for traction on these greasy roads. Here's a view looking west toward West campus on West 24th And looking south down the Drag, you see the city bus and the UT shuttles as well. That's your view Friday morning from the Drag. Friday morning, um, March 28th, it's 8:47 a.m. and this is Gary checking in from the University of Texas. I'm on the intersection of Guadalupe at 24th Street. I've got the student union building behind me, CVS catty corner across the intersection and the here’s the University United Methodist Church. As you can see a rainy morning on the Drag. We've got students heading up uh from West campus heading towards their 9 a.m. classes, umbrellas in hands. Uh, traffic on the Drag is moderate and it is perilous out here, uh, just standing at this intersection listening to car tires, struggling to get traction on these greasy roads, and here’s a view looking south down the Drag on a rainy Friday morning. Friday morning, March 28th. Just crossing the intersection of Guadalupe at 24th. And on the west side of the drag now, and uh let's take a look south down the Drag towards the city skyline, as you can see shuttle buses are running this morning. Uh, parking is already starting to tighten up a little bit. I'm seeing one or two available curbside spaces here. Uh, a lot of pedestrian traffic this morning, rainy, day on the 40 acres. Students with umbrellas in hand here coming up from West Campus. And here's your view looking north of along the Drag. And one last look at the University Tower on a rainy Friday morning.
