Hey, good morning everyone. It's Tuesday, June 24th, 7:50 a.m. and this is Gary just easing into the day. At the ornamental pond that sits behind the Palmer Center. Uh, this place is almost hidden in plain view. It sits right on the south edge of Auditorium shores. It's just to the west of the Long center. In fact, it sits between the long center. And Doug Sahm Hill. And uh, while the water isn't exactly pristine quality, it does support enough little fish to keep the occasional waterfowl interested. And also I've seen a couple of turtles pop their head up here as well this morning. Uh, one of the things that I like about this place actually is a lot of the rocks that surround this little pond have inscriptions. Or quotations on them and in fact I just found this one here. Uh, which has an inscription by, uh, Barbara Jordan. Of course Barbara Jordan was the first African American, uh, to be elected to the Texas Senate, and the, uh, terminal at Austin Bergstrom International Airport is named after her. So that's your view from the ornamental pond in back of the Palmer Center downtown Austin, Texas on Tuesday morning.
Hey everyone, Tuesday morning. This is Gary. I'm over at the little ornamental pond, uh, in back of the Palmer Centre, just on the south edge of auditorium shores, uh, between the Long Center and Doug Sahm Hill. Just give you a little walk around here just. So we get our bearings. This place is almost hidden in plain sight, very rarely see anybody else out here and uh. Beautiful to capture the reflection there of the Austin skyline. Kind of an overcast day. Uh, sun is just making an appearance out there in the east. You just see it, uh, coming up next to the waterline tower. Looks like we have a yard crew out here Working on the long center. And there you have it folks, uh, this is the back of the Palmer Center right now and just see a waterfowl just coming across. Into shot, absolutely beautiful way to start the day.
