Rainey Street Remains Quiet Amid South by Southwest Preparations

Video Transcript
All right, so I'm at the top of Rainey Street here. This is the north end, um, Cesar Chavez is that way and the rivers down on that side. And um it's about 8:15 a.m. on Friday, March 14th. And the foot traffic is pretty low right now. Um, this early really you only have construction people or like people walking their dogs that live around here, um. Right now, the parking, there's not really any street parking because it's South by Southwest. They have these temporary signs up that say that you can't park on the street, but there are lots over here that are pretty busy, um. Usually, I think you can park here on rainy a little bit more freely, but as of right now, there's probably not much in terms of that. And then, um, foot traffic wise, there isn't really anyone out besides like the construction workers and dog walkers, because it's so early, but as the day goes on, it definitely gets busier. So, yeah. So. Like I said, lots of construction workers and construction trucks, but. It's not too busy. And like I said, this lot over here is really where your parking is right now because of all the street closures from South by Southwest. So, like a couple of spots open as you can see, there's another one, but the slot's pretty expensive. a couple more people there. And uh There's nothing backed up right now. It's pretty calm otherwise. Um, you know, usually, this area is pretty busy because of, you know, all the bars and the restaurants and whatnot. But right now, not too bad. So I'll go over here. Not too bad. Overall, pretty calm.
