Building Protest. Construction Project Allegations Stir Controversy on Rainey Street

Hey everyone, it's uh Thursday, June 12th, 12:19. P. lunchtime on Rainey Street. This is 80 Rainey Street. The Paseo The Paseo is the property. Uh, which is at the heart of a labor dispute between local carpenters union and the contractor, as you can see by the sign across the street here. I've spoken to somebody who is informed about the situation, but due to the sensitive nature of the negotiations between the carpenters union and the contractor, and nobody is really comfortable. Uh, sharing information and I'm absolutely gonna respect that. Uh, there is a flyer available, um. Which outlines the nature of the labor dispute. And these are being handed out to the public by the guys who are manning these yellow signs both. On Rainy Street And on Congress Avenue outside of the offices of LV. But here we are, guys. Uh, this is 80 Rainey Street, the Paseo. This is a mixed use development, uh, which is scheduled to come online. Uh, later this year, it's developed by LV Collective. OK, and as you can see from the yellow sign across the street. Uh This property is at the heart of a labor dispute between one of LV's contractors, GMI and the local carpenters union. I've spoken to somebody who is informed on the subject, and due to the very sensitive nature of the negotiations, which seem to be at quite a critical juncture. Um, nobody's really comfortable sharing information on camera and I'm totally gonna respect that. So, uh, this is essentially a story time with Gary the spotter.
