Labor Dispute Protest. Labor Union Protests Continue at Congress Avenue Amid Growing Tensions with LV Collective

Hey everyone, it's Thursday morning, June 12th, 10:39. I am, this is Gary. I'm out on Congress Avenue. This is the intersection of Congress and 8th, and anyone who's been on this block in the last couple of weeks has probably seen this bright yellow, not very family friendly labor dispute sign right outside the Chipotle, um. It's not the Chipotle that's been protested incidentally, it's actually LV who have their offices next to the Chipotle, they're the property developer, um, behind the Paseo, which is the mixed use development at 80 Rainey Street. Um, the lead contractor on that project, GMI, is currently in a labor dispute with the local carpenters Union, 1266. Um, so that's the nature of this ongoing dispute. And what they're encouraging folks to do is if they are In support of the Carpenters Union is to contact uh the management team at LV Properties. So that's your view, uh downtown Austin, Texas, in a section of Congress and 8th.
