Video Transcript
Hey y'all, this is Gary checking in from the University of Texas. It's, uh, Monday, March 24th. It's 12:13 p.m. And I'm standing in a very picturesque part of campus. I'm right by the Littlefield fountain. You can see the university tower behind me. And if I spin around, down University Avenue you can make out the silhouette of the state Capitol in the distance behind me. Um, It's the first day of class after spring break, so pedestrian traffic is back up to pre-spring break levels. This currently is one of the pinch points on campus. As you can see, there's considerable construction going on on the corner of 21st and University Ave right by the university Catholic Center. So 21st is down to one lane, it's westbound only, as you can see. Hey y'all, it's Gary checking in from the University of Texas. It's a Monday 12:16 p.m. March 24th. I'm crossing over 21st Street at the intersection of University Ave. I'm right by the University Catholic Center, and I just wanted to give you a feel for how it is as a pedestrian trying to navigate this construction, uh, heading west down 21st Street toward Guadalupe um. Coming up alongside a little food court of a little court of food trailers here right outside the Dobie. um, food trailers, as you can see. Yeah, the food trailers are open. Um Which is good. It's definitely a pinch point for pedestrian traffic right now, as traffic gets back to pre-spring break levels, so that's your view from 21st and Whitis on a beautiful March, lunchtime, University of Texas.
