Campus Calm. Quiet Morning at University Presages Impending Protests

Hey y'all, it's Wednesday morning, April 9th. It's uh 9:45 a.m. This is Gary checking in from the University of Texas, and I'm actually on the main mall right at the base of the university tower. Uh, very quiet over here right now, uh, but this definitely has the potential for chaos later on today. Uh, there is a protest planned at 11:00. it's a walkout in support of immigrants' rights, uh, organized by students for a democratic society, um, mix that in with the tour groups that are coming through for next year's freshmen, and also some construction and landscaping that's going on out here, that could make for quite a chaotic blend. Hey y'all, Wednesday morning. Gary checking in from UT just leaving the main mall now and turning the corner, uh, towards West Mall, just highlighting some of the construction and landscaping that's going on out here. Yeah, the front of Battle Hall is actually fenced off right now and as you can see, about 14 large pallets of mulch have just been delivered on the West Mall.
