Quiet Morning at Texas Capitol as Community Reflects on Recent Floods
Hey, good morning everyone, it's. Thursday, July 10th. 10:37 a.m. and this is Gary reporting for City Vibe from the, Texas state capital, uh, quite a somber atmosphere out here. Uh, first thing you notice is that, uh, old glory up there is flying at half-mast, half staff, uh, out of respect for the folks who perished. During the July 4th floods in the Texas hill country. uh, now the legislature is actually in recess at the moment, although there is a special session that's scheduled to start on July 21st, um, items on the agenda include. Restrictions on products containing THC, there's some redistricting Measures that are gonna be on the agenda and um it goes without saying that most of the time is likely to be devoted to items pertinent to the July 4th flooding, um, we'd expect to hear discussions on flood monitoring, emergency communications, uh, emergency response management. Um, but for now, no pun intended, Perhaps this is the quiet before the storm, a very quiet morning over at the Texas State Capitol.
