Metz Swimming Pool Remains Serene and Empty on a Sunny June Afternoon
Video Transcript
It's 2:25 on June 2nd. I'm at Met swimming pool in the East Cesar Chavez neighborhood, and they're open right now, but there's nobody here. Uh, nobody is at the pool. Nobody is swimming. Uh, there are some young, uh, people down there, down here cause right next to the pool, there's actually some sprinklers. Where, uh, the young people, the kids are chosen to, uh, play. There's some sprinklers on the other side of the pool, but it's not busy at all. There's nobody here at Met's pool in central Austin. Right next to the pool, you have some sprinklers. We got some people playing down here at the park. There's some sprinklers and, uh, very quiet, not a single person at Met's public pool. They're all at the sprinklers over here. Mr. G reporting for City Vibe.
The website says they're open and park hours are 50 a.m. to 10 p.m. but there's not a single person at Met's swimming pool right now. It is the hottest part of the day, uh, so maybe that has something to do with it, but there's not a single, uh, swimmer in the pool. There's a sign that says they're hiring for lifeguards, but, uh, very quiet here at Met's pool in central Austin in the East Cesar Chavez neighborhood. Very quiet and uh low key. It's supposed to be open, but I don't see anybody here.
