Austin’s Lady Bird Lake Sees High Activity Despite Scorching Summer Heat
Aloha, it's Saturday, August 9th, 2025, almost 4 in the afternoon. Pretty hot out here, about 96, 97 degrees in the evening, plus the heat index. I'm on the South First Street Bridge which has consistent traffic and there's people out there bearing the heat. On the water there. You got kayakers and a tour boat too. Uh, Austin's a 24/7 365 city. Uh, there's always people around, always stuff happening, and, uh, even, even during the, the hot summer August.
I'm on the South 1st Street Bridge on August 9th, 3:56 in the afternoon. Great shot of the all the kayakers here. Uh, they, they're here even in the 100 degree weather, you know, Austin's a nonstop city, so, uh, you got people enjoying the crisp, clean town lake, AKA Ladybird lake water, um, not my, not my cup of tea as the other, uh, spotter would say, but, uh. I'd go on the tour boat there. The tour boat looks nice, but the kayakers seem like they're having fun as long as they don't get wet and as long as they, uh, you know, wash their hands off when they get out of the water, I guess it's safe, but, um. I know a lot of people, when I grew up in Austin in the 80s, nobody would go in this water. Now there's people in it every single day. So, I don't know what's changed. Maybe they clean the water, but it still looks a little murky to me. It's still downtown, beautiful, beautiful downtown skyline. Austin's the only city in the United States that has a waterway running through the downtowns that I'm aware of. And, uh, the tour about looks like more like my style there. Looks like fun times. On the tour boat. That's the Capital Cruises if you're interested in, uh, they're having a party. Nobody's dancing though. Why aren't you guys dancing? Dancing, you gotta put some dancing in it. This is dance music. Hey everybody 5 is it
