New Ramen Restaurant Prepares to Open at Space 24 Twenty Amid High Turnover Challenges

Video Transcript
Hey everyone, Friday morning, June 27th, 9:43 a.m. This is Gary. I'm outside of Space 24 Twenty. It's on the Drag, just near the intersection of Guadalupe and 24th. Just taking a look at the, uh, new tenant who's moving into the restaurant space on the corner here. Uh, looks like we've got a ramen restaurant coming in, so noodle lovers tap in. Yeah, this space, uh, is part of the Urban Outfitters portfolio. Uh, it comprises a flex space in the back. There's a couple of food trucks back here, uh Lucky Lab coffee shop as well. It's also a performance space: over the years I've seen stages set up and bands have played out here. But unfortunately, this restaurant space seems to be the place where restaurants come to die. Uh, it's such a saturated market. The overhead is so high here as well. It's tough to do business. In fact, when this place opened 10 years ago, uh, to much excitement, um, celebrity chef. Uh, Michael Symon had a burger joint here a couple of years later. Austin, uh, hot dog purveyors Frank took the space over, and I think since then it's been a variety of, uh, fried chicken joints. So, there's your view, looking south down the drag. In eager anticipation of a new restaurant at space 24 Twenty.
