Austin's Shoal Creek Trail Bustles with Morning Activity as Joggers and Walkers Hit the Path

Hey, good morning everyone. It's Saturday morning, July 26th. 8:13 a.m. and this is Gary for City vibe. I'm on the hike and bike trail. Uh, just to the west of the Congress Avenue Bridge, the bridge. And, uh, a busy morning on the trail, folks. A lot of run clubs out this morning. Uh, just walking down here as well. So a lot of group bike rides out on the road. Uh, this is the, uh, the steps here that would take you up to to Congress Avenue. I can almost not get out onto the trail for, for fear of being run down by somebody, but, uh, let's, uh, just take a walk here right into the shadow of the Congress Avenue bridge. Let's take the temperature of the lake, see if there's any lake activity going on. This is a little bat viewing platform right here. Still quite a cool morning, folks. Humidity is not too bad. well, what a treat. And uh, yeah, just coming under the bridge now I can see, I think it's a woman's eights and a coaching vessel heading west, uh, back towards the rowing dock. Uh, yeah, busy day on the lake, busy day on the trail. I hope you have a great weekend, y'all. Everyone Gary for cityvibe, just in the shadow of the Congress Avenue bridge here, uh, standing out on the little uh bat viewing platform. Of course this is, uh, The bridge with many names Congress Avenue Bridge, the Ann Richards Bridge, and bat bridge, uh, in fact, the largest colony of Mexican retail bats, uh, lives just above my head here. A trail very busy this morning, folks. It's a cool morning. A lot of the run clubs out, a lot of group bike rides out. I noticed on the way down here, and a lot of recreational lake users as well. This is your view looking east. Along the trail, you'd see the South First Street Bridge and the Lamar Bridge just off there in the distance.
